Education Abroad Program Proposals

Faculty interested in submitting a proposal to offer a new or repeat education abroad program for J-Term or Summer should select and complete the appropriate forms from the list below. Proposals should be submitted via email to the ISO at [email protected] or by mail at P.O. 400165. Proposals require school and departmental endorsement along with review and approval by the International Studies Office (ISO). Only complete proposals are considered. Questions about the proposal process and forms can be addressed to Dudley Doane at [email protected].

Note: University faculty and staff must complete the Temporary Export Certification form prior to taking University equipment (including laptops, tablets, and phones), non-public technical information (generated or provided by the University) or any develop encryption source code with them on international travel.

Faculty & Staff Training
 

    J-Term and Spring 2024 program director, faculty and staff training will be held on the following dates (all program directors, faculty, or staff must attend one training session):

    • Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Zoom
    • Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Zoom
       

      Summer and Fall 2024 program director, faculty and staff training will be held on the following dates (all program directors, faculty, or staff must attend one training session):

        • Friday, April 22, 2024, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Zoom
        • Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., Zoom

           

          Note: New semester education abroad proposals generally require 12-18 months of planning. UVA faculty interested in developing a semester education abroad program should contact Dudley Doane at [email protected] after consulting with the appropriate Associate Dean for Academic Programs in their home school.
